Lux Bar
Lux Bar
Nightlife platform optimizing bookings, payments, and QR access.

Kickoff Thread
When growth exposed the cracks in the system

Hi Rances, when we open the doors, everything slows down. Staff manually checks reservations, people wait in long line, and guests keep asking if their booking is confirmed. We’re opening bars in more cities, but each location works differently, and it’s getting harder to manage operations.

Hi Mauris, thanks for the context. What you’re facing is an entry bottleneck caused by manual processes and lack of shared visibility. We can design a mobile platform to manage reservations, enable in-app payments, and streamline access through QR codes. This would reduce pressure at the door and bring consistency and control across all locations.
Problem Framing
Where operations were breaking
Entry bottleneck just at peak hours
Manual reservation checks created long queues and operational pressure exactly when the venue opened to the public.

Unclear payment and reservation status
Guests and staff lacked a shared source of truth, forcing manual confirmation and breaking the arrival experience.

Fragmented multi-venue operations
Each location operated independently, making consistency, monitoring, and scalable growth difficult.

Success Criteria
How success was defined before designing solutions
User
From a user perspective, success meant a predictable and frictionless arrival. Guests should be able to reserve, pay, and access the venue with confidence, without questions, delays, or manual validation at the door.
Reserve.
Pay.
Enter without friction.
Operations
From an operational perspective, success required speed and clarity at peak hours. Staff needed a single source of truth to instantly verify reservation and payment status, reducing pressure, errors, and queue buildup.
Scan QR.
Verify instantly.
Keep lines moving.
Business
From a business perspective, success meant scalability. The product had to support multiple venues and cities under one system, enabling centralized monitoring, operational consistency, and future expansion without increasing complexity.
Centralize data across venues.
Operation monitoring.
Scalable.

Key Takeaways
What this project reinforced

Rancés Sánchez
Founder at Prometeux &
Lead Product Designer
Designing Lux Bar reinforced that great products are not defined by features, but by how well they align experience, operations, and business outcomes.
Solving entry friction required understanding human behavior under pressure. Improving revenue predictability required reducing uncertainty at the moment of commitment. Scaling across cities required treating events and venues as systems, not screens.
This project reaffirmed that product design reaches its highest impact when decisions are grounded in real-world constraints, measurable outcomes, and long-term scalability.
